There's something about an old, Whiskey-colored leather cigar chair that's hard to resist. The kind you'd find tucked into the corner of an old hunting lodge or a dimly lit whiskey bar. Rich, worn leather that's softened and darkened over the years, with creases and character you couldn't possibly recreate in a factory. Timeless, comfortable and probably holding onto a few stories it has no intention of telling. And plenty more yet to come.

That's the kind of character we had in mind when we decided to build a Limited Edition Insidious entirely from Horween® Whiskey Cavalier Leather.

And man, is this stuff beautiful.

Rich, warm Whiskey tones with the kind of depth and character you can only get from real leather. The more you carry it, the more it develops a personality all its own. No two bags will age quite the same, and that's exactly how we like it.

But we didn't stop at the leather. Unzip one of its three easy-access, leather trimmed YKK Water-Resistant Aquaguard Zippers and you'll find a wonderfully unexpected interior of TexWax™ Buffalo Plaid Wax Canvas. A little old hunting lodge, a little vintage Americana and a whole lot of warmth tucked inside a seriously rugged sling.

Of course, underneath all that old-school character is the same wonderfully overbuilt Insidious that's been one of our favorites for years.

At 10.5 liters, it's got room for a 13" MacBook Air, iPad, camera and your everyday essentials, with three separate compartments, a padded tech pocket, dedicated organization and a MIL-SPEC rifle clip for your keys. The reversible, closed-cell foam padded shoulder strap works for righties and lefties alike, and lets you swing the bag from your back to your chest whenever you need quick access.

And because we apparently have a problem leaving well enough alone, we finish that strap with an imported 2" AustriAlpin® COBRA® quick-release buckle capable of holding over 1,000 pounds. Roughly $30 worth of Austrian-engineered hardware on a sling bag.

Some people might call that excessive. Around here, we just call it any day ending in 'Y'.

There's also a rear D-ring for attaching our optional stabilizer strap when you want a little extra security on a bike or motorcycle.

The result is a pretty unusual combination. Beautiful, character-rich Horween leather, cozy Buffalo Plaid and the kind of unapologetically overengineered construction that has absolutely no business looking this good.

Take it to work. Throw it in the passenger seat. Bring it on a weekend escape. Beat the hell out of it and let that Whiskey leather develop a few stories of its own.
